monoLight's Biography
monoLight project came up with a vision of making music that would be a breath of fresh air to polish electro/gothic/rock scene. The band members are known from bands like d’Archangel, CO.IN., Synchropath and The Sixpounder. Generally, the music is kind of a mixture between spacious electronics, melodic vocals, heavy rock guitar and energetic live drums.
In 2010 monoLight released their first EP “how close am I?” on which, except self written songs, they decided to put Joy Division cover and some remixes created by befriended musicians.
The band has played a lot of concerts so far that were well acclaimed by audience and reviewers, for example Castle Party Festival (small scene in 2010 and main scene in 2011), tour with Desdemona (2010) or support for Apoptygma Berzerk (2010).
They were invited by Anja Orthodox to play with Closterkeller during the Abracadabra Gothic Tour 2011.
monoLight cooperates with Halotan Records label. In 2011 they self-released “ribbons and feathers” single and also in cooperation with Core Group a music video to the title track.
In close future the band plans to record the material for full length album and play as much gigs as possible.
