We have just added free downloads to our shop. And it is not some low quality samples, like 30 seconds of low quality. Our downloads are full-length, full-value, full-album 320 kbps mp3 downloads. Having given this, how are we going to sell now? Read on…
First of all we have always been commited more to promoting music than selling it. The business/sale part of it exists because we value absolutely everyone who follows our artists.
So if you like physical releases, you can get them from us for a price below download price elsewhere. If you prefer download – get a nice, clean one with all the tags in place, encoded properly from original masters and in the highest quality mp3 can offer.
To make things clear – we need to make a couple of quid to promote our artists more effectively. Every sale is greatly appreciated and in fact those sales are what keeps the show going.
However, we do not believe, that by giving you free mp3 we are loosing even a single sale. Some people buy, some download. All the music in the world can be accessed for free in seconds – why should we restrict your access then?
If you just want to give one of our artists a go, go ahead and download. We are sure, that if you really like them, you are going to come back for a physical disc for next to nothing.
BTW, did we mention that all the money we make on CDs goes towards artists' promotion?
